A cohesive launch package
Building a brand with gravity and imagination
As the designer leading the rebrand, I developed the visual direction from the ground up. I explored typographic systems, textures, and colour palettes inspired by space, light, and film grain—elements that naturally echoed the company’s mission of discovery and amplification. I designed the logo, colour system, and visual treatments, then translated the identity into a responsive website that foregrounded each filmmaker’s work. The tone was intentionally atmospheric and immersive, using large-scale imagery and rich contrast to create a cinematic viewing experience.
A bold, expressive identity rooted in storytelling
The final brand system combined a custom wordmark with subtle celestial motifs, giving the identity a sense of wonder without losing its professionalism. The colour palette blended deep navy with warm planetary hues, creating a visual world that was both grounded and aspirational. On the website, the design relied on generous space, high-contrast typography, and full-width imagery to showcase each film. The UI remained minimal to let the content speak—prioritising clear navigation, accessible typography, and an editorial layout that reflected the sophistication of independent cinema. The identity extended across digital, promotional, and social assets, ensuring the brand could scale as the film catalogue grew.
Amplifying underrepresented filmmakers with a cinematic, award-ready presence
The rebrand gave Cosmos Films a confident visual foundation that matched the quality of the work they champion. With a cohesive identity and cinematic digital presence, they were able to present their films with clarity and impact, supporting their visibility as they went on to be selected for festivals and garner multiple awards. The new brand amplified the filmmakers’ work rather than overshadowing it, helping Cosmos Films step forward as a trusted home for powerful, underrepresented stories.
